In other words, deposit limits of 5000 NZD per week will be removed, which means that from then on players will be able to deposit as much or as little money as they need.

In connection with the removal of the gaming restrictions, the gaming Inspectorate has also been instructed by The New Zealand government to submit a partial report no later than March 15, 2022 to report on evaluating the consequences and possible follow-up measures of the temporary responsible gaming measures. The final accounts commissioned by the government shall be completed by 31 October 2023.

A notable gambling responsibility measure that has been introduced and that possibly will not be removed is the one introduced on the second of July 2020 at New Zealand casino bonuses where the maximum bonus regardless of the type of welcome bonus was limited to a maximum of 100 NZD.

This meant that whether you received 100 Free Spins, 50 Free Spins or risk-free bet slip, the total value could never exceed 100 NZD. Thus, different gambling sites offered different variants of bonus money, Free Spins (free bets), betting coupons, and so on.

This is what the minister of Social Security says about it all

What, then, do those responsible have to say about this upcoming event? New Zealand Social Security Minister Ardalan Shekarabi said:: "The gaming market turnover has increased and it is likely that online gambling in this way, based on new consumption patterns, has also done so when the temporary regulations were introduced.” . He continued: "We will follow these developments and implement further measures if necessary”.

In addition to almost two weeks ago 5000 NZD deposit and loss limit at New Zealand licensed gambling sites in New Zealand, the restriction on how long players may be logged in to given online casinos will also be removed. In the past, there have been only a certain number of hours per day in total on all licensed gambling sites in New Zealand.

Despite the previous gaming restrictions that will now be eased in about two weeks, the gaming market has nevertheless seen an increase during the pandemic and even now that it has been eased in one and the other for the New Zealand gaming market, so to speak.

Due to the current global health situation, things may change quickly and completely unexpectedly as The New Zealand government has given itself extra powers to implement strict new measures if necessary from a public health perspective – this also includes the consumption of gambling/online games.
